When I was 14 years old I directed a film with a High 8 camera my father had just purchased.
All the editing, both music and visuals were done in camera. My nine year old brother and his friend played the main characters, two innocent boys that went from experimenting with hash to shooting dope in three months.
After a day of shooting, all the parents were invited to a screening. The film got shocking reactions from the audience. My parents quickly recorded some happy family moments over the disturbing film and the neighbor kids were no longer allowed to play with us. That day I discovered the power of cinema and that I wanted to be a director.
